What kind of work it is

MnDOT labels each proposal with a major work type. Here is what those categories usually involve, and how many proposals on this letting fall into each:

  • Drainage / grading (4): earthwork, embankment, pipe and box culverts, inlets and ponds, often with the paving and erosion-control work that goes with them. Proposals: 260132, 260133, 260134, 260138.
  • Signing and markings (2): sign structures, panels and pavement markings. Proposals: 260151, 260152.
  • Signals, lighting and ITS (1): traffic signal, roadway lighting and intelligent transportation systems work: poles, mast arms, conduit, fiber and controller cabinets. Proposals: 260130.
  • Bituminous Mill And Ultra-Thin Bonded Wearing Course; Bituminous Mill And Ultrathin Bonded Wearing… (1): work as described in the proposal documents. Proposals: 260145.
  • Bridge (1): bridge construction, widening, rehabilitation or repair: piling, substructure and superstructure concrete, structural steel, joints and bearings. Proposals: 260149.

The work type is only a label. The bid item list and plans for each proposal show the real quantities. Subcontractors and suppliers should price from those, not from the category.
